The Lawn Brigade started with a simple idea: put the same crew who turn out when the siren goes to work keeping our community’s lawns and properties looking their best — and channel that energy back into the place we all call home.
Our story
Out here in the South Hokianga, the volunteer fire brigade is more than a siren and a truck — it’s neighbours who drop everything to help. But keeping a rural brigade going takes money, gear and people, and there’s never quite enough of any of them.
So the members of the Ōmāpere Volunteer Fire Brigade started The Lawn Brigade: honest, hard-working lawn and property care that puts the crew’s energy to good use, gives locals a service they can actually rely on, and backs the brigade at the same time. One team, two ways of showing up for the community.
Today we mow, trim, wash and tidy right across the harbour and up the valley — from Waimamaku to Ōmanaia. We’re the people you’ll bump into at the shop and wave to on the road. That’s exactly why we do the job properly: our name and our neighbours are on the line every time.
